Airtel / Pactel e - commerce platform is a system that has been installed taking the various dynamics of the market into consideration. It has integrated PacSoft into a portable hand-held terminal manufactured and supplied by ICL. The designed solution is one that will focus on the benefits of ensuring optimised transactions as opposed to a sole focus on just GSM airtime thereby increasing the value for the service providers and their partner’s revenue wise. The Pac Terminal is ideally deployed particularly for those locations where it is impractical to use a PC based system or the individual retailer is not happy to use PC’s.

This product is able to satisfy many diverse retail environments because it is portable, easy to use and currently the most cost effective terminal available in South Africa.

Our Strategy

It is our immediate focus to deploy this platform as aggressively as possible. Once the platform has been implemented, we will be able to deploy all available prepaid products in the market over the one terminal thereby ensuring a decent amount of transactions per volume of products traded. These products include: MTN, VMOBILE, NITEL, GLOBACOM, MULTILINKS, INTERCELLULAR, NEPA, WATER, DSTV to name a few.

There are two methods in which the Virtual Airtime Distribution business can be undertaken:

1. As a Dealer
2. As a Merchant

E- Charge

MTN VTU:

The new way of topping up MTN prepaid account is MTN E-charge. MTN E-charge enables vendors to top-up your account using a handset and a special SIM Card This secure form of topping up is readily available in all existing recharge denominations (with associated access days). With MTN E-charge, your account is loaded automatically without having to load the 12-digit Recharge Voucher number You don't need to dial '555'*1*'12-Recharge Voucher Number to load your Prepaid Account. It's convenient, innovative and reliable.

E-charge will be gradually introduced into the market and is not meant to replace physical airtime recharge cards or logical airtime, option.

Follow these easy steps. to getting your account topped up virtually in seconds.

• Ask your vendor for the Recharge value that you want (e.g. N1500).
• Supply the vendor your mobile phone number (e.g. 0803XXXXXXX).
• Wait for the SMS confirming that your account has been topped-up.
• Check your balance, and pay the vendor the money.
• You can also dial 559, or send an SMS with text E-charge to 559 and receive an SMS showing you the details of your last MTN E-charge transaction.
